Congratulations to freshly graduated Drs. Moyle and Schulz. Notably, Dr. Moyle was Nima’s first joint completion from day one to graduation of a PhD. Bernd was in fact a very early group member, initially as an exchange student in 2016. We celebrated with family and friends in front of the auditorium where Sophie was suffering overheating in her traditional Leoben gown made for cold mines and tunnels only. Nima, Bernd and Sophie also enjoyed a beautiful lunch at the UNSW lounge to celebrate while Max’ family who came all the way from the UK to be part of this event went off to Watsons Bay. Some photos below.
Further, congratulations to Ally Bradley our Honour’s student who took home the first presentation award in the annual Materials Australia NSW undergrad presentation competition – well done Ally (sadly, I do not have a picture). You are a star!
Last but not least, Sophie landed a new ARC Linkage grant on Ni-based superalloys, and some of this success is obviously based on the great work by past and current researchers of the group.
