Welcome to Sydney, Nana and Michael!

Jun 03, 2021

After starting their theses remotely due to the global pandemic and closed borders, both Nana and Michael have now arrived in Sydney from South Korea and Tennessee, respectively. We managed to get border exemptions granted based on their skills and the importance of the AUSMURI project to the Australian economy. Both completed their mandatory two-week hotel quarantine (although neither of them seems to have finished their obligatory 1000 pieces jigsaw puzzles provided in care packages). The team is thrilled that everyone can be back together f2f again after more than a year with students based in various countries and timezones. We celebrated this with after work drinks at the UNSW Roundhouse and a Thai dinner. Michael and Nana are at the far back left of the photo. We are also thrilled to announce that we now are a team of awesome students and PostDocs from five (six?) different continents.
