Prof Yunzhi Wang from Ohio State visited us on March 21 and gave an excellent seminar titled ‘Design of compositionally and structurally modulated materials for exceptional functional and mechanical properties’. It was impressive how his group uses computational tools to design new alloys with great properties, embracing segregation and other heterogeneities. We also enjoyed a nice lunch at The Lounge and a round table discussion with students and PostDcos organised by Ehsan. Yunzhi is currently on sabbatical at Monash. Thanks for making the trip to Sydney!
