This is Nima’s last week with us after 5 years and a bit before starting his Senior Lectureship at Imperial College London on Monday. Very proud of you, Nima, but also sad to see you leaving. At the same time, Qiuqin has joined the group to pursue a PhD on additive manufacturing grain boundary engineering, and David has come back after some vacation time with his family in Sydney to start his PhD on what we call ‘dirty superalloys’. Welcome both – looking forward to working with you. We celebrated these milestones with after work drinks and snacks. We also spent some time acknowledging many great publication by various team members published in late 2023 and early 2024. Productive year ahead! Btw, Nima will in a sense stay with us, as Adjunct Senior Lecturer! Best wishes to all!
