Earlier this year, both Carina and Felix have been awarded their PhDs. However, due to the global pandemic, UNSW graduation ceremonies are currently on hold. Therefore, we decided to invent our own Covid style graduation ceremony in Sophie’s backyard. Obviously, Sophie took the opportunity to give laudations for our graduands. These impromptu speeches were witnessed by their partners and group members present as well as special guests from Austria and Germany on Zoom. After hand-over of personalised group graduation gifts (we have set the bar rather high for all alumni to come), a large number of BBQed chops were eaten.
