Vitor submitted his excellent PhD thesis on aerospace Ni-based superalloys last week. This was a little bit ahead of the four year mark for Scientia PhD students (Vitor and Nana were/are in this prestigious program). Vitor was incredibly productive during his PhD despite various pandemic interruptions and spending half of 2022 abroad traveling and collaborating with other researchers. He managed to publish several first and Co-author papers in leading journals of our field, both to be included into his thesis and from side projects. Well done! We celebrated this with an amazing Brazilian dinner in Bronte beach, with pretty much all current HDR students and PostDocs present. Vitor will continue to thrive in our team as PostDoctoral researcher, congrats on this appointment as well.
