We had a few exciting and important days in the week of May 23 – 27. Our AUSMURI program got reviewed, and team members Cindy, Max and Nima presented key results alongside with colleagues from USyd in front of a panel of high profile guests from the US Office of Naval Research, DSTG and more. Further, there were tours of the labs at both UNSW and USyd, as well as a more detailed mini conference covering our exciting results. Our US program lead Prof. Suresh Babu (UTK) and Katie O’Donnell (MURI PhD student from Iowa State) stayed in Sydney for the whole week and had a round table with the UNSW group, enjoyed food at the Lounge, the Manly ferry etc. We all learned so much which was indeed very welcome after two years of Covid isolation. Unfortunately, Sophie was the only one who could not make it as she caught the ‘celebrity disease’ just on time, but great leadership was provided by Nima and others instead. What a great week!
