Congratulations to our PostDoc Felix who recently accepted a role as senior technical officer for atom probe sample preparation at the Australian Centre for Microscopy & Microanalysis across the road at USyd. Felix has completed his PhD in our group (2016-2019) and done a highly successful four year PostDoc, both on Ni-based superalloys for aerospace. His main research tools and true passion have always been advanced microscopy methods. We are so happy that he is now able to make this his full time occupation. Congrats Felix – we will stay in touch (socially and professionally). We celebrated Felix’ farewell with most current and some past group members at the Doncaster.
We also congratulate Maxwell who has recently started a new job as consultant in the Sydney CBD. Very proud of you Max, and so happy you found a role you are excited and passionate about close-by. Max (not in the photos above as he was still busy working) has recently submitted his PhD thesis on additive manufacturing of stainless steels. We are currently waiting for the assessor reports to come back. Fingers crossed. Glad to hear his steels knowledge has already been applicable in week 1 of your new role.
